The Monica and Andrew Weinberg Family Foundation is proud to continue its tradition of philanthropy in its support of Pine Crest School and the Center for Teaching and Learning. The Weinberg Family, including Pine Crest students Alexander ’25, Jonathan ’26, and Stephanie ’28, is deeply grateful to the steadfast dedication from Pine Crest leadership, teachers, and staff in providing an outstanding educational experience for its students. The Weinbergs are honored to be part of the Pine Crest family and excited to support Pine Crest’s continued mission of academic excellence, leadership development, and character building. The Weinbergs have chosen to direct their transformational gift to the Center for Teaching and Learning, as this state-of-the-art facility will enable collaborative and dynamic learning for students and teachers, and will inspire our next generation of leaders.

The Monica and Andrew Weinberg Family Foundation pursues philanthropic endeavors that support education, healthcare, wellness, and the community at large. By catalyzing initiatives that bring forth positive outcomes, the Foundation hopes to enhance the quality of people’s lives.

The Center for Teaching and Learning is being designed to inspire students and faculty!

The Center for Teaching and Learning is directly linked to Pine Crest School’s 2019-2024 Strategic Plan, “The Future is Here.” Through the vision and leadership of President Dr. Dana Markham ’18H, Pine Crest has embraced an innovative methodology for teaching and learning, with this building serving as a hub of learning for students and faculty on both campuses and in all Divisions. The Center for Teaching and Learning will represent that Pine Crest stands at the forefront of pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade education.

The Center will be constructed on the Fort Lauderdale campus where Stacy Hall is currently located. It will be the new home of the Lower School's Hudson Library, a computer science and robotics lab, the Lower School makerspace, as well as classrooms and office space.

Teachers will benefit from specially designed spaces for professional learning activities, curricula planning, workshops, and meetings.  This dedicated space for teacher professional growth will enhance the instruction at Pine Crest and will be a powerful tool for empowering our teachers to transform the educational experience for our students.

The Center for Teaching and Learning will include:
  • 1,200 square foot computer science and robotics lab
  • 2,240 square foot library space with enhanced tools for student research
  • An interactive virtual and augmented reality space
  • A Lower School makerspace that will be more than 1,200 square feet and increase the opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Lower School
  • A science lab on the second floor to discover and inspire
  • A 2,000 square foot faculty learning center devoted to professional learning, workshops, trainings, and joint-campus department meetings
